From searching the forums and receiving much crucial information I'm here to share it with you.
First things first.
Why?
RS always wanted to be at the top and fagex's best seller is RS. They are doing it One for the Guinness world Record Aparently its being the No. 1 MMOPRG. After the major update in 2007, they have lost over 2/3's of their population.
They want to bring it back just to be sure at the top.
When?
This update will not happen... yet. Don't FLASH2 PANIC for buying out everything. (Food and Many pots are already bought out. They will crash with update will not happen for about 3-6 weeks.)
What?
From what I heard only the trade and wilderness are coming back. I'm 100% sure that gravestones will still be there, just not when killed by a player. VESTA AND STATIUS AND ALL THE OTHER PVP ARMOR WILL STAY!
As heard from Mod Mark there is a chance of removing Corp as well as spirit shields.
Helpful Information:
-Do not flame the forums.
-It is real, but the votes aren't.
-The votes are there as a ploy there is already a 95% change of update happening. Estimated over 10m votes by January 14.

-Don't buy anything out atm. It isnt worth it.
BIGGEST DETAIL:
CEO Andrew Gower announced that he will release more information about this update tomorrow. I'm sure it will clear and go over many details.

The reason why they are making you vote; I do not believe this is the reason but this is what 90% of my Ventrilo says.
It is because of advertising.
I partially believe that this is just a ploy to get the attention of everyone.
